To NHESS authors, reviewers, editors, guest editors, and all of our readers,

Clarivate Analytics has just released its 2020 journal citation report. We are delighted that Natural Hazards and Earth System Sciences (NHESS) now has an impact factor of 4.345 (compared to 3.102 in 2019 and 2.883 in 2018), with a steady increase over the last couple of years. The 2020 IF is based on 1,651 citations in 2020 of publications in 2018 and 2019 divided by 380 publications in 2018 and 2019. We are also ranked Q1 in the “Water Resources” and “Geosciences, Multidisciplinary” categories.

Such a result would not be possible without authors submitting their work to NHESS, reviewers and editors volunteering their time and striving to keep the journal's high standards, or our loyal readers who cite NHESS papers. NHESS is a team effort, and we are proud to collaborate with our dedicated editors, invited guest editors of NHESS, and great Copernicus staff.
